Dr. Renee Clarke DNP, APRN

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Renee Gooden-Clarke DNP, APRN, a distinguished healthcare professional and community leader, hails from the tranquil island of Kingston, Jamaica. Born to a family that recognized her exceptional intellect from a young age, Renee quickly earned the affectionate title of “the child with the computer brain” from her grandfather, Samuel.

Her prodigious abilities were evident as she mastered adult literature before the age of two, showcasing a remarkable independence that often belied her tender years. By five, she was entrusted with a key to her home in Old Harbor Bay, confidently navigating errands and doctor visits with a maturity that impressed everyone around her.

Renee’s educational journey began at Marlie Mount Primary School and continued at the prestigious Wolmer’s High School for Girls, where she excelled in sciences, Spanish, and French. Her thirst for knowledge led her to New York City, where she obtained an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Nassau Community College. This achievement marked the beginning of a vibrant nursing career that would see her make significant contributions across the United States.

Starting at the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Texas, Renee quickly ascended to the role of charge nurse on the Labor and Delivery unit, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication. Continuing her academic pursuits, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, followed by two Master’s degrees—one in Nursing Education and another as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with board certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In 2021, she proudly graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University, focusing her thesis on “Mitigating the Impact of Obesity in the African American Community.”

Today, Renee serves as the owner and Vice President of Dykal Health and Wellness in South Florida, where she provides primary care services and chronic health management to her adult patients. A passionate advocate for health promotion, she is a global speaker on topics such as obesity management, infertility challenges, and health strategies tailored for both men and women.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Renee is deeply committed to her faith. She serves as a worship leader, soloist, and lay minister in her local church, embodying her belief in the importance of community and spirituality. With an impressive array of accomplishments, Renee Gooden is not just a jack of all trades; she is, in every sense, a master of them all, continually inspiring those around her with her dedication, knowledge, and compassion.
